Scams!!

Since MSN is a free software and service, I think they are giving our email addresses to third parties to advertise their products. Something weird just happened a few minutes ago. My brother who is currently in the house with me just came online via MSN. That could not happen because my house has only one Internet line and there's no router! A few seconds later, he sent me a message telling me to buy some pills. I've received the same exact message from other people in my contact list too. There are other messages being sent out as well such as 'I saw you in this picture,' then a website address is given or something similar to it. Another one just came in, and again it's from my brother. It read :

http://www.videocollectionz.com/?secret=your MSN email address
lol found ur stash

Not only is MSN infected with scams. Even my handphone is affected. Every once in a while I'll get a message from 32100. I don't know who he is or they are but they are trying to sell me a different product or service each time they sent me a message. I've just received 10 minutes ago. It read :

RM 0.00: Teach yourself about sexuality, type ON SEX to 32100. (Pelajari rahsia seksualiti anda & pasangan, taip ON SEKS ke 32100. Daftar percuma) by Techexpert.

Where is all these messages coming from? How did they get my number? Did they just sent out their messages to thousands of random numbers? Can the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation do anything about this?

People, do smarten up and think before filling up any form, replying any suspicious messages or entering any websites.

lol. anyway mau tanya. my bro in law drives a iswara. he tukar rim to 15" dy. now he is changing his ride so i plan to swap my 15" waja with his.

is it possible ah? i'm a bit worried bout the offset and what so not.

Vincent said...

Should be no problem since Waja ori came with 15" also right?

Shouldn't worry about offsets too if it's not a deep-dish rim. A deep-dish rim would have a negative offset or a very low positive offset.

Look at it when the rim is lying flat on the ground with its outside face facing up.

Negative offset : The wheel center is above the mounting hub.

Zero offset : The wheel center is aligned with the mounting hub.

Positive offset : The wheel center is below the mounting hub

Offsets are normally marked on the tyre. Look for 'ET' on the tyre. Normally its marked like ET55 for a 55mm offset.

If your tyre code matches the rim, it should be ok. This is all I can tell you about it. You should ask experts in the tyre shop about this. Make sure the rims not bengkok or warped k. It'll be very dangerous if it is.

thanks bro.

Eh sorry the ET should be marked on the rims and not the tyre. Lol.

No probs. =)

I'm questioning the source of all these pesks. Don't you ever wonder why is MSN giving us free services? Money is needed to run the server that is supporting all our chit chats over MSN messenger. Money is needed to develop/upgrade the messenger so it will look prettier and performs better with time. And where is all the money coming from? Yes you have an ad space at the bottom part of MSN messenger, but how many times have you seen ads from other companies except MSN themselves? Personally, I saw only KungFu Panda and Celcom there. So probably not much earning from advertising.. The bigger question still remains.

Regarding the SMS, I was also questioning the source of it. How did they get my number? I did not subscribe to any of their services, nor did I download/purchase anything from them.

I want to do more than just ignoring them. We must nip any problem in the bud before it evolves into an even deadlier nightmare. Imagine the number of those pesky messages increases. Imagine getting 10 of them in one day. Not only does it cause you emotional distress, it saps battery power and memory space from your hp too.

well... i din heard of anythg really so bad from msn yet.. facebook i heard so le.. the photos u put in facebook is actually can be used by facebook owner freely.. they have the right to do so when u uploaded your photo on facebook..
i think u really quite frustrated but all this msn n hp problems.. for msn.. i oso cnt discover how they wil provide free services... as jus until now.. its stil ok for me... u so pro go n figure out n tell me.. hahax..
for the hp.... as if all those ppl have the thought to pursue ppl to get into those porno things.. they oso wont care who they send to.. while they not really need to get your number from somewhere... they wil jus send to all the numbers they can no matter who u are.. as such... u cnt do anythg too... as u cnt block them so easily... right..
take a deep breathe.. relax... jus ignore all those....

Not only photos, your personal details as well. Last time there was a clause in their t&c that they have the right to pass your personal info to third parties, don't know if it still exists.

My friend, Kev suggested the MSN virus remover. The link is in his comment here. Hopefully it removes the virus, I've gotten it but not sure if the virus is removed. lol.

Random numbers? Maybe.. They might be doing target marketing as well. lol. Those below a certain age of a specific gender with a cell phone.
