Saw dust shortage to affect car prices?

Yea, wtf aight? Apparently manufactures of auto parts uses wood flour (finely pulverised sawdust) and plastic polymers to make lightweight materials used to cover steering wheel and dashboard. From $25 a ton in 2006, the prices have shot up to almost $100 a ton this year. Multiplied by four folds in just two short years.

Talking bout sawdust, it reminds me of the days when I used to be a Boy Scout. In camps we use a lot of bamboo to build simple (but at times complicated) gadgets. In order t o build thsoe gadgets you have to dig, saw and tie those bamboos. Bamboo sawdust can really make your skin itch! The price of bamboo will empty your pockets as well.

With the price of sawdust increasing, it's time to recycle those unwanted bamboos instead of throwing them away after camp year after year. That way the patrol fees can be offset by the flow of money back into the patrol's account. Anyone knows of any wood recycling centre in Penang?
