Remember the episode on Discovery Channel about how the Mayans built their structures with reference to the sun?
They aligned it so perfectly that at certain times of the year, the sun ray would make a perfectly straight diagonal line across the temple floor and touches the corner where the two walls meet. They did it without calculators and precision tools. It was so awesome and bergaya till some fellas actually theorise that their temples were built by aliens. Yeah transformers... Another fine example would be the Stonehenge.
That was back then. Give it a lil modern twist and you'll get Manhattanhenge.
Wiki says,
"At sunset, a traveler along one of the north-south avenues on the West Side looking east can observe the phenomenon indirectly, being struck by the reflected light of the many windows which are aligned with the grid. An observer on the East Side can look west and see the Sun shining down a canyon-like street."
It can be seen on any street in Manhattan which follows the Commissioners' Plan of 1811, which laid out a grid offset 28.9 degrees from true east-west. This usually happens on May 28 and July 12 or July 13. This year it happened on the 12th.
Beautiful right? The beauty of mother nature amplified by the works of men. Anything similar to it in Malaysia?

think if you look hard enough you might be able to catch it at the Twin Towers.
have a funny guess that the turning from Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman to the famous Kin Kin Ban Mee at Pizza Hut would have a beautiful shot.
