Phillip offered this good idea. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May! It is worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!! We are going to hit RM 2.70 a litre and it might go higher!! Want petrol prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.
The oil companies just laughed at last year's action because they knew we would not continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us! By now, you're probably thinking petrol priced at about $1.50 is cheap. It is currently RM2.70 for regular unleaded. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a liter of gas is CHEAP at $1.50, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace...not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their petrol! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying petrol. But we CAN have an impact on petrol prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from Petronas the biggest price-up driver company. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Petronas petrol buyers. It's SO simple! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions and even BILLIONS of people!!
I am sending this note to 20 people. If each of you sends it on to at least twenty more that's (20 x 20 = 400) .. And those 400 send it to at least twenty more (400 x 20 = 8000 ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the fifth group of people, we will have reached over SIXTY FOUR MILLION consumers!!!!!
20x20 = 400
400x20 = 8,000
8,000x20 = 160,000
160,000x20 = 3,200,000
3,200,000x20 = 64,000,000
64,000,000x20 = 12,800,000,000
That's 12.80 Billion people folks, who will have been contacted!!!!! Unbelievable?? Do the math and see for yourself! Again, all you have to do is send this to 20 people. That's all! I'll bet you didn't think we had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.. If this message makes sense to you, then please pass it on.

A boycott to reduce petrol prices? That's absurd don't you think? How can petrol prices go down if the market price per barrel is going up? Do you guys know that Petronas was actually paying for your petrol? They were paying for the subsidy we enjoyed for so long. I can't remember the numbers but it was actually quite a substancial amount the Government took from Petronas to subsidise our fuel. How can we do this to Petronas? It will eventually force them to close shop! And why Petronas? Why not Shell? Mobil? Esso? BHP? Perhaps this Philip has something against Petronas..

yea we all know that petronas has been siphoning our money away but does that make shell and the others any better?
Rach : I thought it was interesting. So I posted it up here. Trying to force a petrol company to cut prices? That's a first!
Kev : It's actually trying to convince us to switch petrol stations. Boycotting Petronas will force Petronas to drop it's oil prices. That's the theory from the mail. It did not mention to abstain from pumping petrol totally.

Rach yes subsidised fuel is good for the people but in the long run it will destroy our economy. The money could have been used for better stuff. For example, upgrading our public transportation system. We cannot depend on subsidies forever. Fuel prices are skyrocketing by the day. The Government is paying more and more in subsidies if there is. Where would the extra money come from? Think about it.

Now more ppl goin NGV, n NGV gettin more popular, n Petronas monopoly sell gas...how to persuade taxi drivers n motorists to avoid Pet's NGV?
I'd rather blame bee anne for screwing Pet's rm360 billion given to them, what've they been doin wit it? We still get snail-paced broadband, public transport is laughable, et cetera.
Probably build one to two dozens villas for MPs only.. Or maybe used it to buy a fleet of S classes..
I spoke with a taxi driver yesterday, he told me Shell used to provide LPG, much like Pet's NGV. LPG 1 full tank is ard RM35+-, but distance is like 500+-km. That's much more like petrol tank's range, which is gud if u're on a long trip or just too lazy to singgah petrol station too often (like me).
I kinda like the idea of Shell's LPG, much more practical than NGV'a 150km range for full tank even if it cost ard rm8+-. Too bad they stopped it ages ago.
Still, the govt's at fault. Now, the taxi driver said refueling is chaotic cuz it used to be just taxi (which is already torturing enough), but today, it's taxi plus acres of cars...and SUVs n MPVs.
MP's villa kah....lol, S'gor got that, but current state govt wanted to sell it IIANM. S class oni? Sarawak CM use RR Phantom tau...
Just last week, when I was coming back from Pavilion, I saw Agung escorted in a Maybach. It was just inches away from me, lol.
Hey not bad, 500+- km! That's far for a full tank of natural gas. By the way, LPG is liquefied petroleum gas right? Sounds like NGV to me.
Yes NGV is cheaper but it's quite tedious to refuel every 150km. It's worst than a Kancil. Lol. Which only refuels after every 240+-km. What happened to it? Gone? Who pulled it off the shelf? Shell or our Government?
RR Phantom driven by Sarawak CM? Are you sure? That really is mad! It was even more suprising than our Agung owning a Maybach.
